Big Hill Fat Fest

10:00 AM: Fat bike rides and winter sporting fun! Bring your skis, snowshoes and bikes to get out and enjoy the day at Big Hill! Food from Killians and beer from local breweries!

Evening: Chinook Beer Release at Crow Peak Brewing Co.

6:30 PM: Drive in Movie at Spearfish Rec Center – Mighty Ducks.

Snow Sculpture Carving

Main Street at Matthews Opera House

1:00 PM – Dusk

Snow sculpture carving on Main Street at Matthews Opera House.  Bring some carving tools to carve a block of snow and enjoy some hot chocolate! Open to all ages. Prizes for best sculptures!


Saturday 1/23

Chinook Bonfire & Winter Games

Lookout Amphitheater (Grant Street Entrance) From Main Street, drive west on Grant Street 4 blocks to drive up the hill into the Lookout Amphitheater parking lot. Across from Brady Park. 

Note:

2:00PM – Dark

Music, Local Beers, local food, winter fun. Due to lack of snow, true winter games on snow won’t be possible. But ride your bike and participate in slow bike races!

Beer tasting will start at 2 PM. Three Spearfish Breweries and the Northern Hills Home Brew Club will each have custom brews just for Chinook Days using Chinook Hops. 

Food from the Switch, Rosemarys Kitchen, and Salt and Spruce. 

3 PM – Music starts on the Stage. 

5 PM – Commemoration of the world record with some historical factoids. 

5:15ish – The lighting of the Fish and Community Bonfire with help from the Spearfish Volunteer Fire Department. 

Music, Food and Beer continues!
